COMETS OF THE 2000's

Since the end of the 1990's, I have spent much less time observing comets than over the previous 30 years, especially visually. Even film imaging has gone the way of the dinosaurs! These days, much of my comet observing is done via a computer screen and a CCD, concentrating more on CCD imaging of faint comets. Part of the reason for this has been the desire to observe fainter comets and also, particularly since I moved to the USA, the lack of a dark sky. Another reason has been that increasing amounts of my observing time has been occupied by asteroid photometry. Despite this however, I have still managed to visually observe some comets and to photograph a few of the brighter ones.
