Physics Department Resources

Local Software (accessible from local subnets only)

Free software (including Linux)

My days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

I am, for those who don't already know me, the system administrator for the Texas Tech University Department of Physics. What that actually implies will be left as an exercise for the hopelessly bored. You can email me at Lee.Burnside@ttu.edu. For the strong of stomach, here's a picture.

Check out my minimal list of news and entertainment sites, but beware; Slashdot can be addictive. I'll add more links as it occurs to my addled brain.

The local resources section is slowly coming online. Local software refers to software used within the department for connectivity and productivity. You are required to be located on an approved subnet to access any of this software. Some of these programs may require a password to access; if so, please contact me IN PERSON, not via email or telephone.

If you're new to the realm of Free Software , I've provided a list of links that you should check out. If you're not using free software, you should be.
