NGC 2573A

3 minutes exposure, SBIG ST-4 CCD.
300mm f/6 newtonian telescope at prime focus.

NGC 2573A and 2573B are a pair of interacting galaxies situated less than 1 degree from the south celestial pole. The galaxies present a challenge for telescopes smaller than 12", however if the skies are very dark, they may be just glimpsed with an 8" telescope and adverted vision.

Combination of 3, 3 minute images, Meade 416xt CCD.

In the upper right corner is the 13th magnitude galaxy PGC 2817443, while in the upper right is the 16.0 magnitude PGC 215126. Towards the centre bottom is the 16.6 magnitude PGC 89323. Out of the picture, but less than half a degree to the east is the galaxy NGC 2573
