The Texas Tech Chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) held their second annual "Edible Car Contest" on March 31, 1998. The entries were judged according to distance traveled after rolling down a ramp, the speed with which they could be eaten, and artistic interpretation. The judges for the contest, Dr. Wally Glab and Dr. Tom Gibson, were carefully selected from the available faculty---Ok, they were the only two who agreed to do it. This event made the front page of the local newspaper and was covered by the local ABC affiliate.
