Lightcurve results for USNO 1024-0049987.
USNO 1024-0049987 is a 16th magnitude star in the constellation Taurus. I discovered it to be variable on images I had taken on 12 December. Only a portion of the lightcurve was covered, however enough was observed to indicate that the star is a W UMa eclipsing binary with a period of about 6.1 hours. Subsequent observations in 2014 confirmed the W UMa nature and enabled a more precise derivation of the period and amplitude.
