USNO 1023-0051277

USNO 1023-0051277 is a 16th magnitude star in the constellation Taurus. I discovered it to be variable on images I had taken on 12 December. Only a portion of the lightcurve was covered, however enough was observed to indicate that the star is a W UMa eclipsing binary with a period of about 7 hours. Subsequent observations in 2014 confirmed the W UMa nature and enabled a better derivation of the period and amplitude.
