Lightcurve results for USNO 0836-0590572.
USNO 0836-0590572 is a 15th magnitude star in the constellation Aquila. I discovered it to be variable on 12 August 2015. Further observations showed the star to be an RR lyrae type variable with a period of 14.610 hours and an amplitude of 1.00 magnitude.
RR Lyrae stars are all approximately the same absolute magnitude (-0.7), and so can be used as a distance indicator. Since the star has an apparent magnitude of about 15.4, it would be at a distance of about 16,000 lightyears, not accounting for any interstellar absorption.
