PNG 357.3 +03.3

3 minutes exopsure, Meade 416XTE CCD.
8" f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

PNG 357.4 -03.2, also known as Mink 3-41, is a very small and rather faint planetary nebula on the Scorpius-Ophiuchus border. It was visible in a 17.5" telescope as a faint, star-like object. An OIII filter greatly helps in distinguishing the nebula from the very rich starfield.

In the above image, the lines on the lower right ar pointing to PNG 357.3 +03.3. The lines on the upper left are pointing to another planetary nebula, PNG 357.5 +03.2, also known as Mink 3-42. This is about the same size as PNG 357.3 +03.3, but is somewhat fainter.
