PK 223 -2.1

3 minutes exopsure, Meade 416XTE CCD.
300mm f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

PK 223 -2.1 is a rather small and faint planetary nebula in Monoceros, on the border with Canis Major, and only about 0.5 degrees west of the bright nebula IC 2177 also known as the "Seagull Nebula". The planetary was not visible in a 17.5" telescope.

In the above image, some of the outer portions of the IC 2177 complex are visible on the left. These are actually part of NGC 2327, also known as Gum 1.
