Musca

The constellation of Musca (The Fly) lies just to the south of the Southern Cross. It is marked by 4 stars in a rough trapezoid. BEing situated close to a rich region of the Milky Way, The constellation contains numerous interesting deep-sky objects. One of the globular clusters, NGC 4372, is visible in the images. There are also several dark nebula visible.

The animation is composed of 100, 5 second exposures. There several faint and fast moving satellites visble and several clouds drift across the view. It is a testament to the darkness of the skies that the clouds are completely black against the sky!
