The Moon at 16 Days Old

The moon 2 days past full. Many observers do not bother with the moon after full phase. Perhaps it is because the moon tends to interfere less with deep sky observations. Or that most people do not wait until the Moon gets high enough in the sky to observe! However I find it interesting to compare the views with those from before full phase. The different sun angle can make well-known features look very different.
