M99 is a beautiful, face-on, spiral galaxy in Virgo. It is easily visible as an circular patch of light with a bright centre in an 8" telescope. However it requires a large telescope to show the very faint spiral arms.


Combination of 10, 3 minute images using red, green, and blue filters.

5" f/5 refractor at prime focus.
