M65 is a bright spiral galaxy in Leo. In an 8" telescope, it is visible as a bright, elongated haze. M65, along with M66 and NGC 3628, is a member of a well-known group of bright galaxies, commonly known as the "Leo Trio". All are spirals and are members of the Virgo cluster. All three are shown in the images below. M65 is to the right, M66 to the left, and NGC 3628 is above these two.
