The constellation of Sagittarius contains more Messier objects than any other constellation, 15 in all. 7 of these are globular clusters. M54 is one of 3 found by Messier in the 'Teapot'. It is a small, bright, and well condensed cluster that just hints at resolution in an 8" telescope.
