Lightening

Western Australia does not have a lot of lightening storms, at least compared with the USA. Some occure in the south during winter storms, and then in the wheatbelt during summer there can be some violent storms.

While I was working at the Chiro Observatory in 2009, on one night thunderstorms were active to the north. Fortunately none of these came far enough south to seriously interfere with observations. They did however, result some very enjoyable lightening displays.
