Leo is a large zodiacal constellation to the east of Cancer. The main stars do look somewhat like the figure they are supposed to represent, so only a little imagination is required to visualize a crouching lion. There are numerous deep-sky objects within its borders, most of which are galaxies belonging to the rich Virgo galaxy cluster.
The above image shows eastern region of the constellation, representing the hindquarters of the lion
