Langrenus

Situated on the south-eastern shore of Mare Fecunditatis is the large crater Langrenus. Due to it proximity to the limb of the Moon, the crater appears quite foreshortened and elliptical, although it is really circular. The crater has a small central peak and beautiful terraced walls, although the latter are difficult to observe due to the foreshortening. The best time to observe the crater is shortly after full moon, when the setting Sun casts long shadows over this area.
