Lacerta is a rather inconspicuous constellation to the south of Cepheus. Since much of the milky Way lies in Lacerta, the constellation does contain a number of emission nebulae as well as open clusters.
Western Lacerta, close to the border with Cygnus. Near the right-hand side of the image is IC 5146, also known as the Cocoon Nebula.
