IC 4665

Combination of 60, 1 minute images using red, green and blue filters.
SBIG STL-10XE CCD. 5" f/5 refractor at prime focus.

In the north-eastern region of the constellation of Ophiuchus, near the famous 'Barnard's Star', is the large and bright open cluster, IC 4665. An object that seems to receive very little attention, IC 4665 is a fine object for binoculars or a small telescope. It is a scattered group of about 20 stars, most of which are white or bluish-white. Easily located just north of beta ophiuchi, this object deserves greater attention.
