IC 4628 is a fairly large and faint emission nebula in the tail of Scorpius, close to the bright open cluster NGC 6231. The field is very rich with a number of interesting objects in the vacinity. NGC 6231 is out of the picture to the lower right. Open clusters in the image are; NGC 6242 near the top, NGC 6268 to the left, and Cr 316 and Cr 318, two overlapping clusters to the lower right of the nebula.
