IC 4628 is a fairly large and faint emission nebula in the tail of Scorpius, close to the bright open cluster NGC 6231. The field is very rich with a number of interesting objects in the vacinity. NGC 6231 is out of the picture to the lower right. Open clusters in the image are Cr 316 and Cr 318, two overlapping clusters to the lower right of the nebula.
