IC 405 is one of a pair of large, but fairly faint nebulae, in the constellation Auriga. They are situated about 5 degrees north of beta tauri (Al Nath). In the photograph above, IC 405 is the nebula towards the top right. The nebula towards the lower left is IC 410, surrounding the open cluster NGC 1893.
