IC 2391 is a very bright and large, scattered cluster of stars in Vela, close to the Carina border. It is situated about 2 degrees north of delta velorum. The brighter stars are all B-type main sequence stars.


45 minutes exposure, Kodak Ektachrome 400 slide film.

Just to the east (left) of the cluster is the faint, scattered cluster NGC 2669. The red patch appears to be some faint emission nebulae, however it is not designated in "MegaStar" or "The Sky".
