Heinze 2-72
PK 294 -0.1

3 minutes exposure, Meade 416XT CCD.
300mm f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

Henize 2-72 is a fairly large and faint planetary nebula in the portion of Centaurus that is between Crux Australis and Carina. Although the catalogue magnitude is 14.4, the fairly large size means it has a very low surface brightness. It could just be glimpsed in a 17.5" telescope.
