Heinze 2-63
PK 289 +7.1

3 minutes exopsure, Meade 416XTE CCD.
300mm f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

Henize 2-63 is a very small and fairly faint planetary nebula in Centaurus. At magnitude 14.6, it was a reasonably difficult object for an 8" telescope, but it was clearly visible when an OIII filter was used. Fairly high magnification also helped to distinguish it from the surrounding stars. It is a very easy object in a 12" telescope.
