Herschel 400 list numbers 296 and 297 are a pair of bright galaxies visible in the same field. The brighter one is number 296, NGC 5363. This is the northern one o fthe pair. The southern one is NGC 5364. This is a beautiful face-on spiral.
Visual Observation Notes:- NGC 5363.
In same field as NGC 5364. Brighter and smaller than NGC 5364. Fairly large. Brighter centre.
18" f/5 newtonian. 16mm nagler eyepiece. 143x.
Sky View observatory. Zenith limiting magnitude 6.7.

In same field as NGC 5363. Larger and fainter than NGC 5363. Somewhat elongated. Fairly uniform brightness. Only very slightly bbrighter in the centre.
