SBIG STL-1001E CCD. 20" f/6.8 Dall-Kirkham cassegrain telescope at prime focus.

NGC 4245 seems to have something of an identity crisis. It has been variously classified as an irregular and as an Sb spiral. However looking at the above image, there is a very clear bar in the central regions, showing that it is a barred spiral, probably SBb.

Visual Observation Notes:- NGC 4245.

Fairly large and moderately bright with a bright core. Faint, circular halo. NGC 4274, NGC 4278 and NGC 4286 all visible in same field.
18" f/5 newtonian. 16mm nagler eyepiece. 143x.
Sky View observatory. Zenith limiting magnitude 6.7.
