NGC 3489, number 163 in the Herschel list, is a bright S0 spiral galaxy in Leo. The small patch to the right (east) is the 17.0 magnitude galaxy, PGC 87258.
Visual Observation Notes:- NGC 3489.
Very bright centre surrounded by a moderately bright haze. Fairly large and somwhat elongated.
18" f/5 newtonian. 16mm nagler eyepiece. 143x.
Sky View observatory. Zenith limiting magnitude 6.7.
