Number 12 in the Herschel 400 list is NGC 288. NGC 288 is a small, moderately bright globular cluster in Cetus, not far from the bright spiral galaxy, NGC 253. It is visible in binoculars from a dark location, and some resolution is achieved with an 8" telescope.
