Eta Carina Region

The Eta Carina region is one of the richest for deep-sky objects in the southern sky. Numerous open clusters and nebulae dot the region. The largest nebula, just right of centre, is NGC 3372, also known as the Eta Carina Nebula.

There is one very faint and fast moving satellite, or possibly a meteor, visible in the animation. The animation is composed of 30, 5 second exposures.
