Capricornus is a large, sprawling constellation to the east of Sagittarius, the main stars of which form a large triangle. In Western Australia, it is often nicknamed "the bikini" because of its shape. Although a large constellation it is poorly endowed with objects suitable for small telescopes. The brightest deep-sky object is the globular cluster M30. However there are quite a number of bright double stars, including the brightest two stars, alpha and beta. These are both very wide doubles, easily split with either the naked eye or binoculars.
