Asteroid 87228 2000 OD42

87228 2000 OD42 is a main belt asteroid with an estimated diameter of 10 km. It was discovered on July 30, 2000, by LINEAR at Socorro. The semi-major axis is 2.91 AU, the eccentricity is 0.045 and the inclination is 9.67 degrees.

Observations on 2 nights yielded a reasonably good, though incomplete lightcurve with a period of just over 18 hours and a very large amplitude of around 2 magnitudes. The data also could be fitted into a single-peak lightcurve with a period of 10.024 hours. More observations are required to confirm the reality of either of these results.
