Asteroid 5199 Dortmund is a main belt asteroid with an estimated diameter of 15 km. It was discovered on September 7, 1981 by Lyudmila Karachkina at Nauchnyj. The semi-major axis is 2.53 AU, the eccentricity is 0.178 and the inclination is 12.25 degrees.
Observations of this asteroid were made on three nights during the period from July 28 to August 2, 2002, using either 60 or 90 second exposures. A total of 131 observations were used, however the scatter in the data is greater than any variation. Therefore no period could be derived for this asteroid.
