Asteroid 1645 Waterfield

1645 Waterfield is a main belt asteroid with an estimated diameter of about 15 km. It was discovered on July 24, 1933 by K. Reinmuth at Heidelberg. The semi-major axis is 3.06 AU, the eccentricity is 0.112 and the inclination is low 1.02 degrees.

I observed this asteroid on four nights during October and November 2003. The resulting data was very noisy and one night could not be used. A low-quality lightcurve was derived with a period of about 4.987 hours. However this result is very uncertain and more work is needed on this asteroid.

Lightcurve results for 1645 Waterfield. Derived period 4.987 ± 0.001 hours. Amplitude of 0.6 ± 0.02 magnitude.
