NGC 7626

Combination of 7, 1 minute exposures, SBIG ST-8E CCD.
8" f/6.3 schmidt-cassegrain telescope at prime focus.

NGC 7626 (left) and NGC 7619 (right) are a pair of large elliptical galaxies on the Pegasus/Aquarius border. They indicate the centre of a scattered cluster of galaxies that straddle the Pegasus/Aquarius region. At 11th magnitude, the two galaxies are easily visible in the same field in a 10" telescope, appearing as a pair of bright, circular patches of light.

To the left of NGC 7626 is the lenticular galaxy, NGC 7631. This is faintly visible in a 10" telescope. Other brighter galaxies in the field include NGC 7617, (below NGC 7619) PGC 71155, (between NGC 7626 and NGC 7631) and PGC 71159 (below PGC 71155). Numerous other very faint galaxies are also visible.
