NGC 7622

Combination of 3, 3 minute exposures, Meade 416xt CCD.
8" f/6 newtonian telescope at prime focus.

NGC 7622 is a small and relatively faint spiral galaxy in Tucana. In an 8" telescope it appears as a moderatly bright elongated patch of light with a bright centre. A 12" telescope reveals little more detail.

There are a number of faint background galaxies visible in the above image, most of which are around 18th magnitude. The brightest is to the right of NGC 7622. This is the 17.2 magnitude galaxy, PGC 348973.
