Meade 416XTE CCD. 300mm f/6 newtonian telescope at prime focus.

Visible in an 8" telescope as a large eliptical haze, NGC 7424 is a beautiful, multi-armed, barred spiral galaxy in Grus, tilted almost face-on. No trace of the spiral arms can be seen with a small telescope.
