NGC 7205

58 minutes exposure, Fuji Provia 400 slide film.
5" f/5 refractor, prime focus.

Like its neighbouring constellation Grus, the southern constellation of Tucana is rich with faint galaxies that are interesting to hunt down with the telescope. One of the brighter ones is the 11th magnitude NGC 7025, shown here just to the upper left of the centre. NGC 7025 is a beautiful spiral galaxy that images well with a CCD and a 12" or larger telescope.
