NGC 6905

Combination of 5, 3 minute exposures, SBIG ST-7E CCD.
8" f/6.3 schmidt-cassegrain at prime focus.

NGC 6905 is a small but fairly bright planetary nebula on the Delphinus, close to the Cygnus border. In a 10" telescope the planetary is easily visible, although moderately high magnification is needed to see the disk, the outer edges of which are brighter than the central regions. The central star is fairly bright, so an OIII filter helps give a better view of the nebula.

Combination of 5, 3 minute exposures using a clear filter,
3, 3 minute images using red and green filters plus 5, 3 minute images using a blue filter.

Also visible in the above images are faint "wings" above and below the main disk. These are not visible in a small to medium telescopes. In a 10" telescope, the planetary has a very destinct blue-green hue.
