NGC 6804

Combination of 10, 1 minute exposures, SBIG ST-8E CCD.
8" f/6.3 schmidt-cassegrain at prime focus.

NGC 6781 is a rather small but bright planetary nebula in Aquila, about 5 degrees west of Altair. It is easily visible in an 8" telescope as a small, circular haze of light with a slightly darker centre, surrounding an easily visible central star. As can be seen from the image above, the planetary lies in a rich portion of the Milky Way, which makes for a very pleasing view.
