NGC 672 is the brighter of a close pair of galaxies in Triangulum about 7 degrees south east of M33, near the border with Pisces. The second galaxy is IC 1727. NGC 672 looks fairly normal for a spiral, however IC 1727 looks a little distorted, possibly due to the gravitational influence of NGC 672.

There are many faint background galaxies visible in the image. Among the brightest are two edge-on spirals almost in contact in the upper right. The top one of these two is the 17.2 magnitude PGC 1811565, while the bottom one is the 16.6 magnitude PGC 6632. Just to the right of IC 1727 is another edge-on spiral, the 16.3 magnitude PGC 1803573.
