NGC 6357 Region

This animation shows the region around the sting of Scorpius. The bright star close to the centre is Shaula. The objects I was most interested in imaging were the emission nebulae NGC 6357 and NGC 6334, also known as the Cat's Paw Nebula. Unfortunately the two nebulae are almost totally lost in the background stars.

The animation is composed of 50, 5 second exposures. Since the CCD is pointing in the direction of the Earth's shadow, there are no satellites visible in the animation.
