NGC 5850


Combination of 3, 3 minute exposures, SBIG ST4 CCD.
300mm f/6 newtonian telescope at prime focus.

NGC 5850 is a fine barred spiral galaxy in Virgo. It is easily visible in an 8" telescope. It makes a excellent pair with the galaxy NGC 5846, which is in the same field in almost any telescope. NGC 5846 is a little fainter and to the west of NGC 5850


Combination of 10, 3 minute images unfiltered.
SBIG STL-1001E CCD. 20" f/6.8 Dall-Kirkham cassegrain telescope at prime focus.


Combination of 60 minutes unfiltered, 27 minutes red, 30 minutes green, 30 minutes blue, using 3 minute sub-exposures.
