NGC 5822 is a large, scattered open cluster in Lupus. A very low magnification is required to view the entire cluster. There is no concentration of stars towards the centre. Being situated in a rich portion of the Milky Way, the surrounding field is a fine sight in a wide-field telescope.
The smaller, more concentrated cluster at the bottom of the image is NGC 5823
