NGC 5694

3 minutes exposure, Meade 416XTE CCD camera.
8" f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

NGC 5694 is a fairly small and faint globular cluster in eastern Hydra. In a small telescope it appears as a hazy patch of light that can be difficult if there is much light pollution. In an 8" telescope it is visible as a small, hazy patch of light. A hint of resolution is possible at high magnification, however a 12" telescope is needed for definite resolution, since the brightest stars are around 15th magnitude.
