NGC 5286

45 minutes exposure, Fuji Superia 400 film.
5" f/5 refractor, prime focus.

NGC 5286 is a moderately bright and well condensed globular cluster in Centaurus, not far from the magnificent globular cluster, Omega Centauri. If NGC 5286 were situated anywhere else in the sky, it would be much better known and receive much more attention from observers. A good object in a medium sized telescope, the cluster is partly resolved in an 8" telescope.
