Comet 49/p Arend-Rigaux

Comet 49/p Arend-Rigaux is a very faint periodic comet that on a favourable return can reach about 12th magnitude. The first image below was taken during the 2005 return which was about average. At the time, the comet was around magnitude 13.5.

2011 Return

The 2011 return of Comet Arend-Rigaux was moderately favourable with the comet peaking in brightness at around magnitude 13.7 during October.
