NGC 457

SBIG STL-1001E CCD. 20" f/6.8 Dall-Kirkham cassegrain telescope at prime focus.

NGC 457 is a large and bright open cluster surrounding the star, Phi Casseopiae. Phi appears to be a foreground object rather than belonging to the cluster. Apart from Phi, the brightest stars appear to be "B" and "A" type giants, although there is one red supergiant visible.
