NGC 4526 is a bright spiral galaxy in Virgo, that is a member of the Virgo galaxy cluster. This cluster covers a large portion of the sky centred on the Coma/Virgo border, and lies at a distance of about 60 million light years.

In an 8" telescope the galaxy appears as a small, bright patch of light, surrounded by a faint, elliptical haze.
