NGC 4236 is a moderately bright barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Draco. It is a member of the M81 Group, a group of galaxies.

There are a number of faint background galaxies in the image above. The brightest is the 16.7 magnitude PGC 2731233 located just to the upper left of NGC 4236.
